Here is the lowdown on this bike, in Erwins' own (slightly edited) words.
I have had this bike since 1988. I have molded it to what "erwin" likes in a bike. Here is a list of some of the items that are changed ... Corbin seat, tank bra, fairing bra made by a girl I know. Belinda @ Too Nice. BMW accessory fairing, braced swing arm, homemade fork brace, homemade side frame braces. Moved the voltage rectifier from the front of the engine to the underseat area (better cooling and less vibes), ammeter, voltmeter, clock, heated grips (had BMW ones, not hot enough). I have a switch to shut off all the lighting ( except the headlight ) for day time running to give more power for grips and heated vest.
CC valve covers and R80 final drive, less rpms at or actually above highway speeds. Front brake from a Kawasaki ZX9R (six piston caliper/brake res. assy). 320mm front disc from my good friend Simon C. from a 1997 YZF 750. I made the caliper mount in the garage. The engine is totally stock except a K&N filter. Lower leg shields ordered from Germany are awesome in the cold weather! Handlebars from a K75, bar end weights from a FJ1100, signal light arms are cut back one inch closer to bike. Works performance rear shocks with optional easy preload adjusters that require no tools to adjust (much like the stock shocks concept). I made an oil pan spacer for one more litre of oil and it has pipes (ski poles!) down the middle of it, running lengthwise so cooling air is directed through the spacer for cooling (what a bitch to weld).
This bike used to be the now trendy bronze/copper color but I have a thing for black bikes. If this bike were an airplane, it would be a bi-plane: not fast, handles good, crude. And a modern sport bike would be a supersonic plane: fast, handles, expensive.
