Woohoo! Engine is out, top end is off and the parts are lining up to march right in. 985cc big bore, cleaned up head, KG clutch plates, stiffer springs, shift shaft mod and a spin-on oil filter kit. There's nothing like cold weather to motivate winter project work.

I bought a used lower triple clamp and stem to replace the ones I modified to fit the Interceptor, a project that didn't work out, but left the pieces unable to be reinstalled on the 900. I swapped them back in to replace the Interceptor clamps and CB1100F clipons. The offset change will suit a raised rear end better, and I can go back to a superbike bend handlebar. I also have Dyna coils and another head to go along with the 985 big bore. Cleaned up but no major port work.

Here are the latest pics of the CB900F. The front fender is now black and the whole bike looks better with it. The Wolf exhaust is only on temporarily as it needs to be sanded down and repainted. The ground clearance sucks with that pipe though. I think I might have to shorten the steering stem to raise the front end. Either that or go back to the stock triple clamps and stem. I also mounted the later style turn signals on the rear end. As soon as I find some mounts for the front, I'll change them too.

Almost everything is done! The front fender will be painted black, the horns need to be installed, I'll need a pair of matching mirrors and the engine will come out for repairs. I'm going to try to concentrate on the Interceptor and VFR engine over the winter.

A big bore kit for a 900 and it's still a smaller bore than my 750 Interceptor.
